God’s Heartbreak

Like a pagan on a sunny day
I’m walking through the burning fields holding a torch
I broke God’s heart
And took my first breath

The rabble asked me about the fields
I told them
It was me
I broke God’s heart

There are no stars in my sky
No heroes or saviors
No crosses or crescents

There are no ponies for my horses
And there are no fairies in my fairy-tales
My little prince has no crown
And my unborn son will hate the world

Remorse is a sin in my humble book
And guilt is the fear of losing love
Happiness is the lie of mankind
And pleasure is its masquerade

Like a pagan on a dark night
I’m walking through the burnt fields
I broke God’s heart
And took my last breath
